The UAE national identity card issued to citizens and residents. Required for almost every transaction in the UAE — banking, mobile contracts, utility connections, government services.

Issued by the ICP after biometric capture. Valid for the duration of your residency visa (typically 2 years). Renewed alongside the visa. Cost approximately AED 200-400 government + service fee. The Emirates ID number is a 15-digit identifier used across UAE systems.
