Establishment Card.
The UAE immigration card that links a UAE company to the federal immigration system (GDRFA in Dubai, ICP federal). Required before a UAE company can sponsor residency visas for employees or partners.
When it's needed
Required for any UAE company that intends to sponsor residency visas — for the founders, employees or their dependents. Not required if the company has no visa quota (e.g. some offshore-style mainland structures or pure SPVs).
Cost & renewal
Approximately AED 2,000 / USD 545 for setup, valid 1–3 years depending on free zone. Renewed alongside the trade licence.
